With ‘Spotlights‘ and the chapbook ‘Perspectives from an Open Heart‘ well and truly launched we have been able to turn our attention to stocking our bookshop over here at Paragram Press.
We had a wonderful night at the Poetry Cafe in Covent Garden earlier in March with poets reading their work from our latest, ‘Spotlights’ anthology. The featured poet for the evening was of course Peter Taylor reading from his winning chapbook ‘Perspectives from an Open Heart’.
Claire Dyer was also at the party both to read from her own prize winning poetry and to launch the 2016 Paragram Paradox Prize for which she is the judge. Those who were at the gathering were lucky enough to hear her tips about what she was looking for in the three genres – humour, poetry and petite-prose. We will be summing up her comments in a blog at www.para-gram.com in the very near future.
Now that our bookshop is up and running you can buy any of the previous Paragram Anthologies, or the winning chapbook here.
‘Slants of Light’, the 2013 anthology, would be an especially good buy as it contains the judge’s notes from our previous poetry competition. Adrienne Dines, our judge that year, very generously allowed us to include summaries of her remarks – invaluable insights for anyone contemplating ways to come to the top of a judge’s pile in a competition.
